It is a member of the GFWC Virginia State Federations, which in turn is a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC), an international volunteer organization with members in every state in the United States and 20 countries.

MOW is unique in that our open boundaries provide opportunities for a wide range of parents and children from multiple communities to come together. MOW was designed to provide support, education and friendship to our members as well as to provide a basis for our members to be active in the community. We offer an extensive calendar of family-friendly activities to cover a wide variety of interests. Events include social meetings, playgroups, picnics, outings, members' nights out, seasonal events, interest groups and community service projects.
